1. We most likely will get at least one more year of Drew Brees

Drew Brees played very poorly in this game and he is a big reason why the Saints ended up losing the contest. While he got no help with some terrible blocking by his offensive line, Brees did not do anything to help his case. He threw an ugly interception (almost had two) and had a terrible fumble after the Saints got into Vikings’ territory late in the game.

Heck, there is probably a small portion of the fanbase that wants to see the Saints move on from Brees after this performance and after seeing how good Taysom Hill played. Brees is still great and we will not let one bad game decide the kind of player he is.

The good thing about this loss though is that it practically guarantees that we will get to see the best player in franchise history play at least one more year. If the Saints would have won the Super Bowl then I would not have been surprised to see Brees retire on a high note.

Brees still has something left in the tank and there is no way that the competitor in him is going to let this poor performance be his last game. Is there a chance that the Saints look to move on and we don’t get to see Brees in New Orleans? Sure, but that is highly unlikely.

It would have been bittersweet to see Brees retire after the year after winning the Super Bowl. There is no way that he is going to retire after losing in the playoffs, that would be outright bitter.
