1. Don Nelson

Nelson has been around the league for half a century.

He invented the concept of the “point forward” both as a player and as a coach. He is a strong defensive mind and is particularly good at utilizing defensive rim protectors.

He was able to lead a an elite defense by utilizing Marc Eaton in his prime, and could operate with Omer Asik in a similar role.

His “point forward” expertise could also help develop Anthony Davis into more of a playmaker, which he showed flashes of post All-Star break this season.

He’s already in the Hall-of-Fame, so he would only return if he felt compelled by Anthony Davis and the opportunity to work with Gentry.
