“Thunder Dan” doesn’t have as much experience as Don Nelson, but his defensive potential as an assistant might be greater.

He was an amazing primary lockdown wing player for the early 90s Suns, and understands how to play strong fundamental defense, while still playing at a fast offensive pace.

This is key, the Warriors have revolutionized the league by proving defense and speed are not mutually exclusive.

Gentry and Majerle are both fast paced Phoenix boys, the difference is that Majerle knows how to mix that with suffocating defensive grace.
