Cadet came to the New Orleans Saints in 2012 as an undrafted free agent in 2012 out of Appalachian State and was one of the hidden gems it seemed in training camp.

He looked like a slimmed down version of another former Saints running back Chris Ivory with his dreadlocked hair and shifty running style.

Cadet was quick and the thought was he could be used in a Darren Sproles type of role as well as a return specialist.

He would have his best year in 2014 where he had 10 rushes for 32 yards and 38 receptions for 296 yards and one touchdown.

On top of his low numbers on offense Cadet also failed to impress on special teams and after having 690 kick return yards in 2012, his production dipped to 239 yards in 2013 and 364 yards in 2014.

He became a restricted free agent during the offseason which the Saints declined to offer a tender for him, leading the Patriots to sign Cadet to a two-year deal.

The Saints and Patriots will face each other in the preseason on August 22nd at 6:30 p.m. CDT in New Orleans.

**On a side note I didn’t forget about former Saints LB/LS Rob Ninkovich but if you’d like to revisit that nightmare of letting a future Hall of Fame player go then by all means, bathe that open wound in lemon juice and salt at your own discretion
