It was a tale of two halves tonight. LSU was completely dominant against the MSU Bulldogs in the first half. The LSU Defense smothered the life out of the Bulldogs and Leonard Fournette had over 100 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns in the first two quarters.

The second half was a pretty ugly affair all around for the Tigers. The pass rush fell off, the offense traded long productive drives for three and outs, and Dak Prescott was able to engineer multiple scoring drives to pull the Bulldogs within a field goal.
LSU needed Mississippi State to miss two field goals at games end to scrape out the win. The first miss didn’t count because Les Miles got a little too clever and called a time out right before the snap giving the MSU kicker a free practice shot. This is usually a bad idea but Miles was saved by a second straight miss.
In spite of the near miss LSU is now 1-0, and undefeated in SEC play.
As it was, there were a lot of bright spots, as well as some causes for concern in the game.
