LSU has outstanding tackles and a dominant run blocking Tight End to face Auburn’s stable of edge rushers. The interior of the line is loaded with question marks.

The Tigers didn’t even know who was starting at guard the week of the opener and made a lineup change at half time, running with two true freshmen for the second half against MSU. The Freshmen struggled and so did LSU’s offense.
The Tigers do have Rimington Award candidate Ethan Pocic at Center, and the Junior will have to show leadership to stabilize the line play inside.
This is particularly important because Auburn has shifted their best returning Defensive Lineman inside from End to tackle. Montravius Adams is a tremendous talent.
Last year Adams was credited with 8 tackles for a loss and 17 Quarterback hurries. He also intercepted a pass which he returned to inside the 5 yard line.
Maea Teuhama and Will Clapp are talented but raw. Montravius Adams is a preseason All SEC and All American candidate on the fast track to the NFL.
Leonard Fournette spent too much time last week having to make plays on his own when the blocking failed to materialize in front of him. That won’t work against a team as talented as Auburn.
For LSU to run effectively Ethan Pocic will have to account for Adams on every down and provide his guards with the help they need to keep him contained.
