Last year Mark Ingram was selected to the Pro Bowl. It was a very strong season for the former Alabama star, and he has found a way to surpass last year’s performance this year.  Not only is he running stronger, but he has added new dimensions to his game.

In yesterday’s loss, the young back produced 96 total yards. The Titans defense did manage to suffocate the Saints run game, but many were expecting one area of the offense to struggle. The Titans were the 6th ranked overall defense coming into the match up.

Through nine games the Saints leading rusher is closing in on 1,000 total yards. At this same juncture last season Ingram had managed to produce 600 yards of total offense. Those are not bad numbers, but it does show how impressive his current season is becoming.

With Khiry Robinson going down with an injury last week against the Giants (I’d like to add that he is in good spirits and is active on Twitter and engaging with fans. We continue to ask you keep him in your prayers.) Ingram will continue to see an increased workload.

New Orleans does still have a shot at making the playoffs this season, and they’ll need as much help as they can get from their premiere back going into the home stretch.

Correction on Tweet. Ingram is at 316 yards receiving in 2015, not 329. This places him at exactly 900 yards from scrimmage through nine games.
