Is LSU AD Joe Alleva Sitting On A Hot Seat Of His Own?
By Scotty Nola
Hot seats are the hot topic in the LSU athletic department these days. Most of the talk has centered on LSU AD Joe Alleva’s presumptive plan to have Coach Les Miles escorted off the premises and into the sunset.
Whoever initially leaked news to the press that Alleva was considering a move miscalculated one side of the issue: timing.
The story has been lingering for weeks now with no action or real response from the Athletic Director.
This has had the effect of marshaling more support for Miles while at the same time, making Alleva look incompetent. Each new day that passes makes Alleva look less in control and Miles more sympathetic as he endures constant public questions on his job status — while being completely hung out to dry by his boss.
With every passing day, more people are chiming in on the poor handling of this situation by Joe Alleva. Gridiron Now columnist Tony Barnhart writes that the treatment of Les Miles is shameful. Shameful is the word Fox Sports college football writer Stewart Mandel uses as well:
Jaques Doucet of WAFB mentioned that a fan on Les Miles Radio Show called Miles treatment at the hands of Alleva a travesty:
The ever colorful social media of popular Tigers blog And the Valley Shook has gone so far as to call Alleva “a War Criminal” for his handling of the Miles situation:
The LSU Logo, a popular social media account following all things LSU, blames Alleva for destabilizing the program’s recruiting efforts:
It may seem as though popular accounts devoted to LSU sports were cherry picked for comments critical of Alleva, but that is not the case. The scorn for Alleva is almost universal at this point.
LSU AD Joe Alleva has a serious public relations problem on his hands. Even the fans who want the school to move on from the Miles era, are disappointed at the way he has dealt with Les Miles.

The LSU coaching change has not yet reached the pure dumpster fire proportions of last year’s Saban to Texas debacle.

At this point that may only be because an attempted hire has yet to blow up in Alleva’s face. Jimbo Fisher’s agent may be waiting on that particular call.
A growing chorus of voices is calling Joe Alleva out for his handling of Les Miles job questions. They view Alleva’s media leaks and failure to publicly take control of the situation as blatantly disrespectful to one of the most successful coaches in LSU history.
This means Alleva has a real problem.
He will have some major fences to mend if he expects to keep LSU fans happy and donating to his department in the future.
It’s the reason why that for all intents and purposes, Joe Alleva finds himself on a “hot seat” of his own at the moment.
And whether or not you want to see Les Miles stay or pack his bags, this much is clear: Joe Alleva has bungled this in the ABSOLUTE WORST possible way, and any “heat” that he catches for all of this, in our opinion is very well-deserved…………
