Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes may not be a household name to Tigers fans, but he is a dangerous threat who will test the LSU defense.

Mahomes is an excellent athlete who played safety in high school and was drafted by Major League Baseball’s Detroit Tigers — before opting to play football. He also got a little recruiting attention from the LSU Tigers in 2014.

Mahomes is a dangerous scrambler who has accounted for 424 yards and 10 TD’s with his feet. He does his best work with his arm though, where he has 4283 yards and 32 touchdowns along with hitting 65% completions. He has averaged over an interception a game, which is one silver lining.

You can see Mahomes combination of athleticism, big arm and accuracy on this play.
