If you think Leonard Fournette will be the only big time back on the field when LSU and Texas Tech face off, think again. The Red Raiders have an outstanding runner of their own and his stats are surprisingly respectable compared to Leonard Fournette’s all time great season.

You all know Leonard Fournette finished the regular season with 1741 yards on 271 carries, averaging 6.4 yards per carry and scoring 18 touchdowns.

DeAndre Washington has 1455 yards on 223 carries with 14 touchdowns, and is averaging 6.5 yards per carry, slightly better than Fournette’s 6.4 yards per carry average.

Washington is a big play machine, using his breakaway speed to tear off yardage in big chunks.

With Washington and Mahomes lined up in the backfield he Red Raiders have two legit running threats in on every play. This is a dangerous combination that keeps defenses wary and opens things up for their high powered passing attack.
