BETTER LATE THAN NEVER: Saints Defense Will be a Difference-Maker “Down the Stretch”

New Orleans received 2 HUGE boosts last week when rookie defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins and star cornerback Delvin Breaux returned to the starting lineup.

The Saints have also been getting better on that side of the ball, and Dennis Allen seems more confident in his game planning each week.

This defense still has too many holes, and is to limited athletically, to be a Top 10 unit, but I do think that we’ll see some good performances by them in key moments.

The key with this defense is turnovers. We’ve seen the defense be far more aggressive in recent weeks, and the result has been an increase in turnovers forced.

A disturbing piece of news surfaced yesterday however, when is was revealed that safety Kenny Vaccaro could be suspended 4 games by the NFL, putting a very thin safety group into a dangerous vulnerability.
