THE FANTASTIC: DREW BREES

Every time one thinks that there’s nothing else the man can do; he completes 78% of his passes for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns, and adding another on the ground.

Brees did this against a defensive coordinator that KNOWS him, with a Top 5 defense, shutting down two of his top receivers, and a game plan designed to PUNISH him.

As is typical of a Gregg Williams defense, they began blitzing right out of the locker room. Brees responded by toying with the Rams’ coverages; and the only reason why Brees “only’ threw for 310 yards is because the Saints ran the ball 32 times.

Number 9 is seeing the entire field better than he ever has, can still make all the throws necessary, and has never had more confidence in his receiving corps then he does right now.
