1. Jared Cook leads the Saints in receiving yards with over 100

If you asked 100 Saints’ fans who they thought will lead the team in receiving yards in the first game of the year then I guarantee that at least 95 of them would say, Michael Thomas. Why wouldn’t you?

Thomas is one of the absolute best receivers in the league and his expensive extension shows that. Not only that, but the rest of the receiving corps is not fantastic, with Thomas often being the go-to target in big situations.

However, the Saints did get better weapons in some capacity by bringing in tight end Jared Cook, who nearly had 900 receiving yards last season at tight end with Derek Carr throwing him passes.

The Texans were not that great at defending tight ends last season, either. They ranked third in total receptions allowed and fifth in total fantasy points allowed in 2018.

With that in mind and with the Saints wanting to show off their new toy, Cook is going to get the ball a ton in Week 1 and is going to lead the Saints with over 100 receiving yards.

I am thinking something in the ballpark of eight receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown, which is a great start for Cook in New Orleans.
