Player who will thrive: Marshon Lattimore

Marshon Lattimore has not been good the first two weeks of the year. Lattimore was burned by DeAndre Hopkins in Week 1 and was part of the secondary problem that nearly led to the Texans upsetting the Saints on a miraculous two-play drive.

It was a mixture of Rams that gave Lattimore and the Saints problems. Cooper Kupp had a big day in making defenders miss and Brandin Cooks was able to burn Lattimore on a straight fly route that made Lattimore look like a rookie again.

Well, actually, Lattimore has not been that great since his rookie year. After an exceptional rookie year, Lattimore had a fairly disappointing 2018. He ranked 82nd in coverage rating among defensive backs and allowed catches on 71.3 percent of passes targeted at him, which was 77th in the NFL.

We are going to see a version of Lattimore in Week 3 that is more like his rookie year self rather than last year or the first two games of the year. While Russell Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the league in making plays happen, he does not really have a great receiving corps.

There are some talented pieces definitely but there is no true clear-cut number one receiver, which gives Lattimore a great matchup either way. The Seahawks will definitely throw different packages and such at the Saints but that should not stop Lattimore from having a lockdown day.

Next. Why the Seahawks are beatable. dark

Lattimore’s improvement in Week 3 is going to be critical to the Saints potentially upsetting the Seattle Seahawks. Hopefully, he is as good as we think he will be.
