While the New Orleans Saints do not seem like a team that needs to trade, the NFL Trade Deadline is right around the corner and anything could happen.

As it stands right now, the New Orleans Saints probably have the best shot of having the best record in the NFC at the end of the year. If the team can win at least two of the last three without Drew Brees and Brees plays as he normally does then this is a team that could go 13-3 this season.

With that potential future in mind, the idea of a trade might feel like an asinine one for a fan. Why would the Saints even need to make a trade if they are already this good?

The Saints do not need to make a trade, but the franchise is smart and knows that if the team can upgrade then they should upgrade.

Regardless of if they do or they don’t, they undoubtedly will not pay a pretty penny for it. Here are four cheap trade options to consider at the NFL Trade Deadline.

1. TE Tyler Eifert

We already talked about why the Saints should be interested in trading for Eifert in a different article so we decided to throw him into the first slide and give a brief synopsis of what is going on.

The Saints, along with the New England Patriots, were reported as being interested in acquiring the former Pro Bowl tight end, Tyler Eifert. Eifert has not been fantastic the last few years and with the Cincinnati Bengals reeling, all trades are likely welcome.

With that in mind, the Saints could probably get Eifert for just a fourth-round pick, and even that might be too high. A low draft selection that probably won’t make the team anyway in exchange for a tight end that could bolster the passing game? Count me in.
