1. JJ Redick

JJ Redick did not have a particularly strong preseason but there were reasons why that was the case. The Pelicans were evaluating the young players on the roster and were trying to craft a rotation with that. Redick did not really need to be part of that process.

That and because he has a lot more mileage on his legs than the rest of the team, so not overusing him in games that don’t matter was extremely important.

Fans were hopeful that his slow start would be exclusive to the preseason but that has not been the case. Redick has started the year off slow and has not been the sharpshooting veteran that fans had hoped for.

Redick had five points in 25 minutes on Monday while shooting 1-9 from the three-point line. He had five turnovers against the Houston Rockets and only three points against the Dallas Mavericks. He was good on Opening Night.

Redick is averaging 9.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and three turnovers through four games. Fans should be hopeful that he will turn it around, but right now, he has been disappointing.
