LSU puts more players in the NFL than any other school, and the majority of them leave to enter the draft as underclassmen. This makes for some young teams on the field sometimes.

This years Tigers squad has a lot of freshmen and sophomores starting and contributing. There are two freshmen starting on the offensive line, a freshman fullback and a first year transfer player started at TE Saturday.

Freshmen Arden Key and Kevin Toliver II are mainstays of the defense. Some of the biggest stars on the team are sophomores. Brandon Harris, Leonard Fournette and Malachi Dupre all fall into that category.

Young players will never be as consistent as veterans. More ups and downs means more mistakes and a greater chance of giving away a winnable game. Saturday was no exception to that rue.

The LSU youngsters have faced and responded to adversity before. They continue to grow and improve every time they play.

There is not a team in the Top 10 with a greater chance to improve between now and the end of the season, a fact that should bode well for the Tigers if they turn things around and make the playoffs.
